My “Ted Talk” recording is based on a journal analysis of class-assigned and outside readings on composition theory and practice for ENG 552. This was at the very beginning of my graduate education. In revisiting it for the first time almost a year later, I was pleased to see that the core principles in which I entered the program with and espoused here have only been enhanced and expanded.
In terms of revision of self and the script itself, it contains a lot of great ideas, but by my own admission very much reflects a lack of focus and clarity. Focus and clarify in writing reflects focus and clarity in thinking (or the lack thereof). My talk was too long; it lacked focus; my ideas and expression of those ideas needed to be polished. Hopefully that will be reflected in my final project and my work going forward.
