How powerful and ubiquitous is story and the possibility of seeing ourselves in the stories of others? Just ask any number of fitness influencers or those influenced by their stories. In my Technologies of Writing Planet Fitness Content Creation Plan I lay out options for linear, E-story, and O-story arc varieties that Planet Fitness can use to inspire others in using their gym. But I also touch on another aspect of story here - brand journalism. In using stories to inspire its members, Planet Fitness is also implicitly speaking to those members on what it values and how it wants you as a member or prospective member to view them. Story through brand journalism is not what you naturally discover and connect to, but that which is targeted at you for the purposes of consumerism.
